November 14 -15
In November our visiting artist is none other than internationally recognized and major award-winning wildlife artist, Mort Solberg.
Morten E. Solberg is an artist's artist. He is versatile in all mediums. He paints in oil, acrylic and watercolor and his techniques range from photo-realism to total abstraction. Years of pursuing his craft via design studios and commercial art brought Mort to the West. Mort now resides in Spring Hill, FL.
The painting above was done as a demo during the workshop (see the slideshow, sidebar). At right is the completed painting. After having it sit on Mort's unfinished shelf and studying it for a month or two, Mort decided that the spanish moss was the perfect environment for birds and completed the painting, adding a Carolina Wren feeding her young.

January 9 - 10
We are proud to present for January's Demo and Workshop, Anne Abgott, Signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society. To quote Anne, "There is a saying "Value tells the story but color gets the credit". I believe this to be true. Vivid colors are the first thing that attracts me & the viewer, color is the emotion, and as important as the composition." If you have trouble "Mingling color" in watercolor, let Anne Abgott help you add that something special to your watercolors.
